4/06/10 I have been working on some asteroids which is what is in the below video. It took me a while to figure out how to make them look like they a floating independently through space. I ended up having to bounce them off the gournd out of camera frame so that they start to drift. I also applied noise wind forces. The do collide with each other and break apart but of course all these settings such as density, mass, and glue have to be tweaked. I do not think that I want these asteroids to be a part of the visualizer though. They look too clumsy and rough and I want more of an organic flow to be the visualizer to run with the music. The asteroids may not be used but they have centered my vision of what I am trying to achieve.

In the below video I have just done a quick flip book of the Low Rez-Smoke to the bass beat of the music. The resolution is set to 100 and will later be set at around 300 for the High Rez-Smoke. There are a few things I want to change here. I want at least a small amount of smoke to emmit out on every bass note so that it can easily be seen as the bass element and not on just primary random bass beats. Also I may perhaps add a bit more noisy movment to the smoke so that it looks like it is flowing and drifting around.
Instead of the asteroids I have decided to use these steam like trails seen in the video below. They are much more organic and have the capability to "dance" to the music and they are much more easier to manipulate. Having some type of geometry thoughout the visualizer is a really important element in my opinion. It helps make everything solid and established for the viewer and gives them something definite to hold on to.
