The rigging for the characters body has been finished in Houdini and a small amount of progress has been made on painting the weights of the bones for animation.
9/25/09:
The long process of animation has begun. I finished the key postions in a few hours and the below video depicts the man's animation with secondary movements. I may add further tertiary movements through the chops network in Houdini. The video has two level of ground planes, the left that ends at the man's knees and the right which is aligned with the man's feet. I think that I may prefer the left.
9/27/09:
The test growing and splitting are nearly finished. The only thing that is left to be done is to further the development of the splits in the veins. The first half of the video below shows the growing veins with dynamic lines and the second shows the splitting veins with metaballs copied to particle points. I am not particulary favoring the metaball method so I am working on copying more lines to random points of their predecessors and growing them with a carve sop as in the first half of the video.
